Gauge

Gauge swatch will be 5 bobbles x 5 bobbles (see Image 2 below)
Notes
- This pattern is for the standard Swiffer Sweeper. If you have an alternate size, such as the Swiffer Sweeper XL, I recommend using the above gauge to elongate your cover as needed.
- The turning chain never counts as a stitch.
- Place the 1st stitch of each row in the same stitch as the turning chain.

Pattern
Mop Bottom
(See this section of the video tutorial here)
Ch 32 using 5mm crochet hook
Row 1: Starting in the 2nd Ch from your hook, Sc across the row, Ch 1 and turn (31)
Row 2: Starting with Sc, alternate {Sc 1, Bo 1} across the row, Ch 1 and turn (31)
Rows 3-14: Repeat Rows 1-2 (31)
- Once you have completed Row 14, take that same piece of yarn and Sc around the panel, using a 4mm crochet hook. If you do not have a 4mm crochet hook, a 5mm hook will work fine as well.
- Sl St and tie off (See Image 3 for final mop bottom)
Top Straps
(See this section of the video tutorial here)
Ch 13 using 5mm crochet hook
Row 1: Starting in the 2nd Ch from your hook, Sc across the row, Ch 1 and turn (12)
Rows 2-16: Sc in BLO, Ch 1 and turn (12)
- Once you have completed Row 16, swap your 5mm crochet hook for a 4mm crochet hook. If you do not have a 4mm crochet hook, a 5mm hook will work fine as well. Work Sc into ¾ of the panel by 1st working into Row 16, then along the long, ribbed side of the panel, and lastly into the original foundation chain (See Image 4 below). This will leave one long, ribbed side without Scs.
- Sl St, and leave a long tail to sew strap to mop bottom
- Repeat top strap pattern to create your second strap
Finishing
- Take the two top straps and place them on top of the mop bottom. Make sure the bobbles are facing away from the straps. The ribbed side of the straps that you did not single crochet around should be facing inward (See image 5).
- Attach straps to the mop bottom as seen in Image 6. You can find how I sew my straps onto the mop in my YouTube tutorial.
